Illinois Nurses Association: Educational Advancement of Registered Nurses, Summit '11

INA hosts a hugely successful Summit which engaged Illinois nurses leaders in positive and collaborative discussions about the future of nursing in our state.  

Nursing educators and leaders from every region of Illinois gathered on April 1 in Normal, Ill. at the Summit 11, Educational Advancement of Registered Nurses, to work out strategies to bring to life recommendations made by the Institute of Medicine Report on Nursing.

RWJF-funded Transitional Care Research Highlighted in Health Affairs (April 2011)

The April 2011 issue of Health Affairs features research and review of implementation strategies of transitional care models under the Affordable Care Act. The study, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and led by Mary Naylor, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., demonstrates nine interventions that demonstrated positive effects on reducing hospital readmissions.

The transitional care model has been shown to ease the transition between different care setting, and has been particularly valuable for individuals with chronic conditions who receive care from multiple settings.
