Awareness Meetings are regional, state, or local meetings that provide an opportunity to engage a broader group of nurses, nursing leaders, and other key stakeholders in Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action implementation efforts.  Organized and hosted by any individual, group, or organization with an interest in the future of nursing,  Awareness Meetings provide an opportunity to expand the dialogue in states and communities throughout the country to advance the Future of Nursing recommendations and build a base of support for action.

Hosts of Awareness Meetings play a key leadership role that will lay the foundation for the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action implementation effort.  This work constitutes a big step in moving the Institute of Medicine recommendations forward.
